HIM Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice, Chapters 1–13

So this might seem like a weird follow up artist after Coheed, but this band has honestly been my top favorite for years. The band is H.I.M.  and the CD is Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice, Chapters 1–13.
Now right off the bat I don't know what to expect, since their last two albums were so different. Dark Light achieved Gold status in the US and was considered "emo" by a lot of people and Venus Doom  was significantly different, a lot a lot more heavier, and wasn't such a great commercial success.
So right off the bat I'm shocked, the first track "In Venere Veritas "  starts off with Ville singing in a upbeat style "lets fall apart together now".
I'll be the first to admit this is one of their poppiest things I've every heard of them. But I think people disregard albums like this too quickly. It's different and it might be that I'm biased but I've always listen to HIM but it flows nice together.
Also it's not to say that the whole albums is upbeat, there are some "heavier" songs. Overall it's different but different if not always a bad thing.
I think to best way to describe this album to existing HIM fans would be Dark Light plus one. It has those catchy chorus and hooks and it sounds better and is more up beat than Dark Light.
8/10
I would recommend this great band to anyone, if they are not your style great. But they are still worth a listen. Thanks for  reading guys, have a great day.

  6. The only time I've heard of HIM was from watching Jackass, Viva la Bam, etc. They sound alright, not something I would normally listen to.
