Blue October "Approaching Normal"

So looking through my music collection, I ran into this album. Now I used to listen to Blue October when they came out with their Foiled album. When I got this album I think I gave it a listen or two, but somehow it got lost.
Anyways one thing I really have to say about this album is that it's probably the most positive music I've seen come out of the band. The album was inspired after the birth of the lead singers daughter (Blue)
The songs are simpler, most of them have a catchy chorus, and I will admit the lyrics are kind of lacking.
But I will say the cons outweigh the positive things about this album. Even though some of the songs are simple you can still hear the emotion that Justin puts into his songs. The amount of energy he puts it's all of it.
"Been Down" Is a great example of this, it's a every emotional song. Hits you right in the heart. "My Never" "The End" "Say it" and "Should Be Loved" Are other songs I really enjoyed from this album.
I think this is a great album. Definitely shows that Justin is getting past his demons and I know he'll be a great father to his daughter.

HIM Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice, Chapters 1–13

So this might seem like a weird follow up artist after Coheed, but this band has honestly been my top favorite for years. The band is H.I.M.  and the CD is Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice, Chapters 1–13.
Now right off the bat I don't know what to expect, since their last two albums were so different. Dark Light achieved Gold status in the US and was considered "emo" by a lot of people and Venus Doom  was significantly different, a lot a lot more heavier, and wasn't such a great commercial success.
So right off the bat I'm shocked, the first track "In Venere Veritas "  starts off with Ville singing in a upbeat style "lets fall apart together now".
I'll be the first to admit this is one of their poppiest things I've every heard of them. But I think people disregard albums like this too quickly. It's different and it might be that I'm biased but I've always listen to HIM but it flows nice together.
Also it's not to say that the whole albums is upbeat, there are some "heavier" songs. Overall it's different but different if not always a bad thing.
I think to best way to describe this album to existing HIM fans would be Dark Light plus one. It has those catchy chorus and hooks and it sounds better and is more up beat than Dark Light.
8/10
I would recommend this great band to anyone, if they are not your style great. But they are still worth a listen. Thanks for  reading guys, have a great day.

Next review

Just letting everyone know that I will try to update this blog every other day, or so. I want to spread the word about a lot of bands but sometimes I just won't have the time for it.
Hopefully I'll be able to get a new post by tonight.
Thanks for stopping by and I apperciate you guys reading my reviews thanks!

Coheed and Cambria "Year of The Black Rainbow"

So being a long time of Coheed I was excited to listen to their new album. Even though it has been out for a while now. For those of you who don't know this album if supposed to be a prequel  to the story of Cheed and Cambria.
Over all I liked the album, it's very different from the last two albums, has more of a progressive feeling. A lot of people of complain about an over produced sound the surrounds the albums. I have to agree with that. It just seems like there's just so much going on on some songs. Although I won't say it's a total let down. it did disappoint me though
There are two songs that pop out to me "Far" and "Pearl of the Stars" there is just so much emotion in both of these songs. These two are definitely the highlights of the albums
At the end of the day it's a good album it would be silly to expect it to sound like Good Apollo One and Two.
It's a new sounds and I welcome it with open arms, it won't be my favorite but it will still get plays on my Zune
