Coheed and Cambria "Year of The Black Rainbow"

So being a long time of Coheed I was excited to listen to their new album. Even though it has been out for a while now. For those of you who don't know this album if supposed to be a prequel  to the story of Cheed and Cambria.
Over all I liked the album, it's very different from the last two albums, has more of a progressive feeling. A lot of people of complain about an over produced sound the surrounds the albums. I have to agree with that. It just seems like there's just so much going on on some songs. Although I won't say it's a total let down. it did disappoint me though
There are two songs that pop out to me "Far" and "Pearl of the Stars" there is just so much emotion in both of these songs. These two are definitely the highlights of the albums
At the end of the day it's a good album it would be silly to expect it to sound like Good Apollo One and Two.
It's a new sounds and I welcome it with open arms, it won't be my favorite but it will still get plays on my Zune
7/10

  18. Ahh love me some 'heed. saw them live this summer. fucking amazing show man.

and this album has seriously grown on me. don't get me wrong, this is no second stage turbine blade. but what i do love about this album is the potential for acoustic juxtapositions. have you heard "here we are juggernaut" acoustic version yet? just dripping with emotion. that's what i love about coheed. Far and Pearl are amazing acoustically as well. just adds a nice variety to their repertoire.

but yeah, don't mind my little geek out about CnC. Great post man. keep it up! following!
